Frequently Asked Questions
I have heard that African violets do not like to get wet. Is that true?
This is only partially true. While African violets love to have their leaves washed, it is critical that the crown (center of the plant) does not get wet and stay wet (if it should get wet, it may be blotted with a tissue).
Is top watering or bottom watering better?
Either method will work fine as long as the crown does not get wet and the plant does not stand in water longer than 15-30 minutes.
How can I find out more about growing African violets?
By coming to our meetings the second Tuesday of every month (except July)!!!
